Yhteiskunta tukee ihmisiä erilaisissa elämäntilanteissa erilaisin tuin ja etuuksin. Tukien hakeminen ja myöntäjä vaihtelevat tukimuodon mukaan. Pääasiassa tukia ja etuuksia hoitaa Kela, mutta myös kunnilla on omia tukimuotojaan. Etuuksien euromäärät vaihtelevat vuosittain. The social and health services provided by the wellbeing services county of Southwest Finland offer preventive services and services such as research, treatment, family and rehabilitation services to the people of the area.

The Southwest Finland Emergency Services are responsible for rescue services in the whole county, the 27 westernmost municipalities and the archipelago.

The Wellbeing Services County of Southwest Finland is the third largest wellbeing county in terms of population and second largest in terms of personnel.
