Keywords:

As customers of child welfare, your family may receive family rehabilitation services. In the family rehabilitation services, the child welfare customer and their family will be given intense support to take home or as institution-like family rehabilitation for the whole family.

Family rehabilitation is intense, multi-professional support to support parenthood and interaction in the family, for instance. Practising everyday skills and establishing a regular day rhythm, for example, are part of family rehabilitation. The aims and content of the family rehabilitation are agreed upon together with the family before the start.

Family rehabilitation is mainly a support form of non-institutional child welfare which aims to make it possible that the child lives at home. Family rehabilitation can be utilised in substitute care when working on the end of the substitute care. In this case, there are careful preparations for the reunification of the family in the family rehabilitation.
