Psychologist's services in student welfare

The school psychologist's tasks include promoting children's school attendance, studies, learning and welfare, as well as promoting the welfare of the community in the entire school, or educational institution.
Psychologists may support children, the youth and families in matters related to, among other things, learning and emotional life. They can also refer people to other services, if necessary. They may also join in the students' work in the classroom and take part in creating various types of groups.
The rest of the school staff may consult the psychologist in various matters related to the students' school attendance, welfare and learning.
The wellbeing services county of South-West Finland will provide this service from 1.1.2023 onwards.
