COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations in Southwest Finland in autumn 2025
Keywords:COVID-19 vaccinations will start in Southwest Finland in September and will continue in the region in autumn 2025, in line with the target groups defined by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) Vaccinations against influenza, also known as the flu, will commence in October–November for high-risk groups.

COVID-19 vaccinations
Booster doses of COVID-19 vaccinations will be administered in stages to different population groups in accordance with THL's vaccination recommendations. In 2025, COVID-19 vaccinations are recommended for the following groups:
- elderly people resident in care homes or receiving regular home care, as well as elderly people cared for by informal carers
- all persons aged 75 years or older

COVID-19 vaccination order in Southwest Finland in autumn 2025
- COVID-19 vaccinations will start at the housing service units for the elderly and in home care in September.
- Vaccinations for severely immunosuppressed people will also begin in September. The schedule and vaccination locations will be specified later.
- COVID-19 booster vaccinations for other groups will be given at the same time as influenza vaccinations from October onwards. These groups include all elderly persons aged 75 years and over who are supported by informal carers, and adults under 75 years of age with two or more conditions that increase the risk of severe coronavirus disease.
Influenza vaccinations in Southwest Finland in autumn 2025
No changes are expected in the high-risk groups specified for influenza vaccinations. Vaccinations will begin in the area covered by the Wellbeing Services County of Southwest Finland in October–November.
