Aikuissosiaalityössä tarjotaan sosiaalipalveluja 18 vuotta täyttäneille, joiden taloudessa ei asu alaikäisiä lapsia. Sosiaalityö on tukena kun elämäntilanne on kuormittava, toivot muutosta elämääsi tai sinusta tuntuu, että monenlaiset haasteet ovat kasautuneet etkä ole itse varma, miten pääsisit eteenpäin.

Yhteiskunta tukee ihmisiä erilaisissa elämäntilanteissa erilaisin tuin ja etuuksin. Tukien hakeminen ja myöntäjä vaihtelevat tukimuodon mukaan. Pääasiassa tukia ja etuuksia hoitaa Kela, mutta myös kunnilla on omia tukimuotojaan. Etuuksien euromäärät vaihtelevat vuosittain. Ajantasaiset tiedot tukien suuruuksista saa asiaa hoitavalta viranomaiselta.

Sosiaalipalvelut vastaavat kuntalaisten monenlaisiin avun- ja tuentarpeisiin ja palvelevat kaikenikäisiä kuntalaisia. Sosiaalipalveluihin kuuluvat sosiaalityö ja -ohjaus, maahanmuuttajatyö, toimeentulotuki sekä työllistämistoiminta.
