Influenza vaccinations for working-age people

A working-age person belonging to a high-risk group due to illnesses of their own, or illnesses of people close to them, or due to treatment of these illnesses, is vaccinated free of charge by a health centre. The possibility of influenza vaccination can also be inquired from the occupational health services.

High-risk groups are:

personnel of social and health care as well as pharmaceutical services (participants in the immediate care of the client)
pregnant women
everyone aged 65 and above
Children aged from 6 months to 6 years
People belonging to high-risk groups because of an illness or treatment
Men starting their national service and women starting voluntary military service
People close to those most at risk of serious influenza

Information on influenza vaccinations

If the egg allergy is mild or regular and you have not had a serious reaction to egg, you will be vaccinated against influenza normally.

If you have had a life-threatening reaction to egg in the past and you still have an adrenaline pen in use in case of a severe reaction, you can be vaccinated against influenza, but the follow-up period is two hours after the vaccination. If you belong to a group of people at risk of a serious influenza, influenza vaccination is recommended. If necessary, contact your own health centre to agree on the time of vaccination.

Pick up the vaccine first and come to the vaccination event with the vaccine.

Select “Ajanvaraus” ("Appointments") from the left-hand menu on the front page.
Select "Varaa aika” (“Book an appointment”).
Choose a client relationship (A client of the Turku Health Centre should choose "Turun kausiepidemiarokotukset" [”Turku seasonal epidemic vaccinations”]).
Select the service you want.
Choose an office (your own health centre/child health clinic).

Vaccination appointments are available for November and December 2023. If the appointment calendar is blank or does not allow a change of month, this means that there are no available appointments. An effort will be made to add appointments as the situation develops, so you should check the booking situation again later.
